-Q-
How do we identify the real barriers that keep us from being physically active? How do we create healthy behaviors?
-A-
Every person is different. As you are beginning to learn, some people aren’t active because they don’t know how to be. Some people aren’t active because they don’t have time. Some people aren’t active because they don’t have energy. And, some people aren’t active because they don’t have anyone to be active with. Why aren’t you active? Through an open course in Google Drive, Veronica Brock and Erin Staples have created an assessment (Barriers to being active quiz) that will help you identify your personal barriers to physical activity (quiz by Brock and Staples is licensed under CC by 3.0). You will see that barriers can be categorized as lack of time, social influence, lack of energy, lack of willpower, fear of injury, lack of skill and lack of resources.
