4. Shots – Putting & Chipping
Putting Basics
Putting is designed to be played close to the ground and used when you are on or just off the green. When putting, the grip is placed in the palms of the hands, and the shaft becomes an extension of the arms from the elbow to the hand. This allows the club to be swung with much less face rotation than shots that must travel a greater distance.

Chipping Basics
Chipping is also designed to be played close to the ground and is performed when you are close to the green. This shot results in the ball briefly being ‘chipped’ into the air. The grip is placed in the palms of the hands, and the shaft becomes an extension of the arms from the elbow to the hand this allows the club to be swung with much less face rotation than shots that must travel a greater distance.
